Enjoy the local terroir.

One of the joys about this region of France is the quality of its produce. Pour yourself a glass.

While not known as a destination for wine tourism, the surrounding area holds more than enough interest for even the most enthusiastic oenophile. The famous vineyards of the Loire are 45 mins away and the sacred grapes of Bordeaux are just under two hours.

Closer to home, the local producers offers exceptional value for money and provide an entertaining and knowledgeable ‘degustation’.

We recommend the locally bubbly, Cremant De Loire, as an excellent alternative to Champagne and the reds of Chinon and Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil, the latter being a very handsome table wine and daily drinker. As for the whites, we favour the local Domaine De Rotisserie which does fine Sauvignon and Chenin blancs.
