New Guests

I’ve always wanted animals. When we bought La Batonniere nearly 5 years ago now, we looked at the eight acres and thought what wonderful pasture it would make for livestock, a hobby farm perhaps with a few sheep, the obligatory chickens and maybe some friendly cows.

But this is a long term dream. We’re still in the midsts of our professional lives and the prospect of retirement is a ways away. Which is why we were delighted when our wonderful neighbour asked us whether he could use some of our land at the rear of the house to graze his two pet heifers.

So say hello to Cinderella and her daughter Peach. They are now long term residents in the rear paddocks of La Batonniere and those of you visiting us this year will meet them. Two beautiful creatures with gentle souls, they while away the day munching the grass which has made the region’s dairy produce so famous. In the coming months we’re also expecting some goats to join them. Looks like our idyllic notion of animals roaming the fields of La Batonniere is starting to come true.
